Alzheimer's disease has traditionally been a clinical diagnosis meaning you talk to a patient like you were doing you get a history of progressive short-term memory loss and when that memory loss and other cognitive changes and sometimes sleep trouble and behavior changes depression and agitation whatever so cognition sleep psychiatric comorbidities when all of these cognitive brain symptoms cause activities of daily living to be no longer able to be done by that person then that person has something called probable Alzheimer's disease dementia
