it's sort of affirmed this concept that HDL cholesterol is not really telling us or informing us on the efficiency of the function of HDL at least in this case the function define mind as the ability to extract cholesterol from cells
developed what I'll call an anex Vivo cholesterol reflux assay where the concept is we took someone's blood or plasma we isolated the HDL specifically we got rid of the apob contained lipoproteins and then put that on cells that were labeled with cholesterol and we measured the effectiveness by which that HDL removed cholesterol from cells
