and so that became that became an a central moment where it was catalyzed that yes high LDL will result in higher cardiovascular disease at these levels
The headline is broadly defensible, but the qualifications matter. Effect sizes vary by population, the strongest claims rest on shorter trials, and credible voices push back on how it's typically framed.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
Monogenetic FH are really four um of I would call them the the heavy lifters of the liit of the lipid hypothesis especially and they have to do with a getting back to what I said before a dis a serious dysfunction in lipid metabolism so there's a lack of clearance from the vasculature particularly in for example l receptor binding it it doesn't the receptor that are on the cells especially the liver cells the hepatocytes have a have a tough time grabbing a hold of apob containing lipoproteins and and taking them in right and that results in a greater amount that's in the bloodstream and those same children I was talking about that brown and Goldstein were looking at they also had high levels of cardiovascular disease so that became a catalyst moment where FH at that point it was like oh not only do we see this condition for which some people have high LDL alongside High cardiovascular disease these children these poor children they're having a heart attack um at like age six at age six or seven and so forth
there's the FH that brown and Goldstein were looking at resulted in super super high levels of LDL such as like 700 800 for some of the uh children they were looking at with um homozygous FH that is referred to um since we are going to allow a little bit of technical something called monogenetic FH
