not only do macrophages of those with monogenetic versions of fh have of course mutated receptors they actually transcribe for ldl receptors less than normal normal people macrophages in other words it's almost as if they know it's almost as if the cells themselves know that they can't get a lot of action and so sure enough they upregulate these other receptors i had never known about uh from the super family of ldl receptors and they're called lrp5s and those they can show they get up transcribed and up expressed but they still have other problems that come from this mutation one of those is they do have an inability in a scavenger receptor and again i'm speaking from memory i believe it's cd169
