That's where I think this particle measurement really has the greatest potential for refining risk assessment and identifying people that should be considered candidates for treatment, with whatever one can use to help lower those particle concentrations.

10 years ago we were looking uh at LDL particle number which the um both the Mesa population so the multi-ethnic study of atherosclerosis and the Framingham uh Offspring population have both demonstrated unequivocally that when you compared LDL particle number to LDL cholesterol LDL particle number always predicted risk better than LDL cholesterol
