So one of the reasons historically why the corpus calistomy was invented in the very first place was to sever the connection between the left and right hemisphere which doesn't stop the seizure. It just limits the spread. That's exactly right. It doesn't stop the seizure but what it does is stops the propagation the very fast propagation of the seizure from one side to the other.
