since fructose can only be metabolized in the liver because the liver has the glute 5 transporter every time a fructose molecule enters a liver cell it has to be phosphorylated so it goes from fructose to fructose one phosphate and the enzyme that does that is called fructose kinase well the phosphate has to be donated and ATP is the donor so ATP becomes a DP adenosine triphosphate becomes adenosine diphosphate now there is a scavenger enzyme in the liver called adenosine deaminase one and what it does is it then takes adp down to a MP mono phosphate then to iymp inositol mono phosphate and finally to uric acid
