Initially the lactate gets recycled locally. Um, so it's shuttled um to neighboring type one fibers. So type it gets generated in the type two fiber, gets shuttled to a type one fiber. it gets converted back into pyuvate and then the pyuvate goes into the mitochondria to produce more ATP. Um that's called the lactate shuttle.
