So the main fuels that we use for exercise are the fatty acids and glucose. And those are oxidized or burned in the different skeletal muscle fibers that we have. So we have the slow twitch muscle fibers and the fast twitch muscle fibers. The fast twitch muscle fibers are divided in two, the type 1a and type 2b, if you will. Some people call them type 2x as well, but they're two kinds of muscle fibers.
