Hopefully not with polyester sheets, hopefully not with fragrance in your uh bedding from the detergent you're using, and hopefully not wearing yoga pants to bed or underwear that has PFAs or stain resistant you know, period panties or any of these things that can have these chemicals in them. It's in the plastic lining of the paper that Whole Foods or many butchers will use to package your meat. It's in the plastic lining of those cardboard containers you get at Whole Foods to put your food in and take out. It's potentially in the plastic lining of so many food packaging, and it's getting into your food. It's actually also in cans. It can be in all the canned food that you eat along with BPA and BPS. So, at this point, I'll pause the podcast because many of you may be thinking, "Forget it. I'm over it. This is too much." But remember what I said from the beginning, there are easy solutions. Knowledge is power. This isn't meant to be overwhelming. It's meant to show you that intentional choices in basically every area of your life will be essential for optimal health long term. I've highlighted that they say among four perfluorochemicals measured, PFOS was the predominant compound found in blood. Well, it's 30 ng/mL in our blood, and the United States has the highest along with Poland levels of PFAs, PFOS specifically, in our blood. So, it's coming from somewhere. It could be coming from our foods, but I think limiting it as pervasively as we can is the key. Another article, "Endocrine Disruption and Androgenic Activity of Per- Perfluoroalkyl Substances, Clinical and Experimental Evidence." You can see that the conclusion here this study documents that PFCs have a substantial impact on human health as they interfere with hormonal pathways, potentially leading to male infertility. So, this is a cross-sectional study of 212 exposed males from the Veneto region and 171 non-exposed controls. They found increased levels of PFCs. This is perfluoroalkylated compounds in plasma and seminal fluid. So, it's actually getting into male seminal fluid correlating with circulating testosterone and with a reduction in semen quality, testicular volume, penile length, and AGD, which is anogenital distance.
