i think basically every conclusion of the original women's health initiative has been turned over
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
it's hands down the biggest screw-up of the entire medical field in the last 25 years now again it's possible in the next hour I'll think of nope there's a bigger screw up another another Giants yeah but but I don't think I will I I'm pretty confident that I won't be able to think of a bigger Act of incompetence then what happened with the Women's Health Initiative in the late 90s and early 2000s which is effectively the study that turned the entire medical field off hormone replacement therapy for women
so here you have basically a non-event that has most people panicked senseless most women panicked senseless when confronted with taking hormones during the perimenopausal period and yet at the other end of that Spectrum we have a treatment that has more than a log fold benefit in the other direction I.E in reducing risk and I wish I wish people would just allow their attention to be allocated proportionate to the size of the impact
I think basically every conclusion of the original Women's Health Initiative has been turned over
so many women are so petrified of hormone replacement therapy because of this awful you know study the Women's Health Initiative which was completely misinterpreted
