I think there is evidence that estrogen higher estrogen levels in women which go along with female physiology do predispose in some ways to autoimmunity. I mean you see all almost all autoimmune diseases have a higher incidence in women whether it's Hashimoto's thyroiditis which is >> autoimmune thyroiditis.
