generally within medicine the measures we use are HSC RP which is high sensitivity c-reactive protein we also use a measure called ESR which is erythrocyte sedimentation rate and if you want to get a little bit more wide you can use things like fibrinogen ferritin which is a storage form of iron but it's an acute phase reactants and will rise in some inflammatory conditions and then we can get really really specific and measure specific cytokines like interleukin 6
