when they did they did a study on normal people and they they made them hyperglycemic to quite high levels for 72 hours and then they wanted to see what happened with their insulin secretion and like their insulin levels and blood glucose regulation what they basically say is in the increased plasma insulin response following 72 hours of hypoglycemia resulted from a small insignificant increase in insulin secretion and a large significant reduction in um metabolic clearance rate of insulin since insulin degradation involves binding of insulin to its receptor followed by internalization and subsequent degradation it is possible that the hyper insin anemia induced insulin resistance interferes with the internalization degradation process or inhibits the insulin degrading enzyme
