if your insulin resistant because there's liver fat or because of the cytokines coming in now you can't phosphorylate FOXO one you can transduce that insulin signal so now your glucose output goes up which then increases your serum glucose which then goes to your beta cell and acquires no off switch there's no off switch correct and your beta cell then has to make extra insulin and it's making it fasting it's not just making it in response to a meal it's making it all the time
