the body releases more free fatty acids if you look back at my labs from uh when i was a strict carnivore my free fatty acids in my blood were slightly elevated because i was in ketosis you can see that here free fatty acids 0.60 millimole per liter kind of elevated that's what happens when you're in ketosis that is a normal reaction by the body to increase free fatty acids in the blood and that is a signal to the peripheral tissues to refuse insulin specifically the muscles to excuse me to refuse glucose to refuse the actions of insulin and then to refuse glucose in order to spare glucose for tissues that rely on it red blood cells brain etc adrenals
