I think that we are smart and because we have had some small victories in medicine and nutrition and health I mean we've made scanning electron microscopes and we've understood quarks I think that we've gotten a little too prideful and we imagine that as humans we can outsmart natural the natural world that we can outsmart nature and that may sound whoo but I think it's pretty damn difficult to outsmart 3 million years of natural history and evolution and any time we try to do that I get worried
