but now with the advent of stereotactic radio surgery which is more focused precise radiation uh the newer data shows that you can actually just treat the area of metastatic disease as as a as a delineated MRI scan and not necessarily radiate the whole brain like we used to for decades everyone got whole brain radiation and for the most part they did all right but the problem was you're looking at a patient population that maybe doesn't have that much of a life expectancy now that systemic therapy amunotherapy everything has gotten better especially in the case of lung patients they're living longer
