in general I don't believe there's any situations for humans in which we want cortisol to be high there's probably a future set of podcasts on the way we have misconceptualized stress and the flawed reasoning around hormesis this concept that a little bit of a poison is good for you and that is for the future but suffice it to say that I find myself more and more in the camp of hanselier and other sort of historical philosophers in the medical space saying that stress is cumulative and stress is not a good thing for humans
