if neu5gc were really a problem and the ferrets and Martens would be getting colon cancer or light left and right they would be probably dying off and their population would evolve or go extinct presumably there would maybe be a mutation and one ferret or martin that didn't have neu5gc would would evolve and take over because there would be such a negative pressure from all the new 5 GC that or i should say one ferret or martin that did have neu5gc would evolve or take over because they were there eating all this food that has neu5gc but yeah my point with that is that there's no evidence from that population of animals either that eating foods that have neu5gc when you don't have neu5gc is a problem because those ferrets and Martens are not dying of colon cancer or being you know sort of wiped off the face of the earth because of some sort of genetic environmental mismatch
