Hematopoietic stem cells which are multipotent, meaning they have the capacity to form different cell types in the body although they're very limited to the types of cell they can form, can repopulate the immune cells and red blood cells. So, they can form B and T lymphocytes, red blood cells, as well as other monocytes. In addition to these hematopoietic stem cells, the placenta also has the capacity to form pluripotent stem cells, which means, these stem cells can form any type of cell in the body including blood cells, immune cells, muscle cells, lung cells, liver cells, kidney cells, brain cells.
