There was an animal study published in the journal of obesity where hydrogen inact in increased the secretion of the hpatic growth factor FGF-21 fiber blast goes back to 21 and this increases energy expenditure and in this study they used lethin deficient mice and the the rats that drank hydrogen water or rodents that drank hydrogen water they prevented a the weight gain substantially compared to the ones who did not drink hydrogen water and it was equivalent to about a 20% caloric deficit.
