when you stub your toe there's actually two processes going there's sensory pain and affective pain sensory pain means you you can feel it in the nerve endings and it's you know it's very unpleasant affective pain is I hate this right and you feel both in physical pain the affective component involves the same part of the brain the dorsal anterior singular cortex when you have something that emotionally bothers you when you're being excluded we know that because there's these interesting studies that that people are similar nfri machine they're looking at the part of the brain that's illuminated and they're they're being subjected to to being rejected by somebody else and they can see the part of the brain that's actually illuminated
