insulin encourages the ingress not only of or facilitates the ingress not only glucose but of fatty acids as well however the physiology is set up to limit at distal sites the delivery of both glucose and fatty acids also under the control of insulin so insulin may well facilitate the entry of fats and glucose into cells but it also acts on the adipocytes to shut down release of free fatty acids and on liver to shut down the release of glucose so it should theoretically be imbalanced
