plants do make these defense chemicals egg corns are a great example the whole brassica species is a great example and if you look at herbivorous animals and we are not herbivores we are i believe animal specialized omnivores and i'll clarify that in a moment um they they don't eat a lot of one plant they're eating lots of different species and moving between plants so they don't over accumulate alkaloids or other defense chemicals
