I have a theory hypothesis that most of the folate in animal foods could be al methylfolate because that's what they're using in their biochemistry or perhaps animal foods would be higher in methylfolate but it's just the hypothesis most fully din foods is a mix of methylfolate and formal folate and the other ones that appear in biochemistry I am pretty sure I've seen it speciated in liver but I don't remem the details off the top of my head but I think animal foods in plant foods both are mixes of those folate forms interesting Malcom not thoughtfully it is is a predominant one so those are the the other five that I that I haven't here are when I'd say our conditional risk I think these are things where you know how you design the diet is a lot more relevant but I group them in carnivore risk because they come up more as a considering the the design of your diet becomes more relevant by the fact that it's carnivore diet so one of them is manganese like ooh overwhelmingly plants are richer in manganese and animal foods and vegetarians have the highest manganese intakes and very much higher compared to omnivores because of greater plant food intake however muscles are are an excellent source of manganese you know you could you could hit so I recommend three milligrams as a target which is a little higher than the RDA and if you had 100 gram serving of muscles that would fulfil your daily requirement three to five servings of Pacific oysters and a handful of fish freshwater bass trout while I Pike burbot drum perch rainbow smelt sunfish and sucker and then there are a bunch of processed meats that are decent sources of mayonnaise but I think they're a really bad idea with respect to the previous conversation we had about vitamin C and then you know I like I don't know - what so one thing that's interesting to me is like if you're a carnivore and you were gonna cheat what would you cheat on and so like there are some spices where like if you didn't want to eat a high volume of plant foods you could add like what would be a pretty large amount of these spices so like 6 10 10 grams of cloves ginger saffron or cardamom or 10 to 18 grams of cinnamon or turmeric would give you your manganese required be a lot oxidized yeah so if you're if you're right so I mean maybe this is one of the things that's that's I like ultimate like so I have a question for you if you were gonna eat a plant food what a plant food would you eat no the answer is no Chris I believe the answer should be dextrose powder we can talk about that we can talk about that I don't I don't know I think for a lot of people so I'm writing this book and it's almost done and in I'm writing chapter 12 right now and it's about how to eat a carnivore diet and within that chapter I give a spectrum of plan toxicity that it's entirely based on my own creation and opinion and it's not necessarily based on rigorous objective data but on that plan toxicity spectrum on the far left side of what I would consider to be less toxic plant foods I have I have foods like avocado olives squash and lettuce so again it's not a big list those are the four things yeah there are some foods in the middle you know but maybe it'll get revised before I publish but I don't think so but I mean those would be the things that I would consider to be the least toxic plant foods just thinking about lectins and oxalates and just other things that I've sort of made in my own just to give people a sense of it but I think within within the ketogenic carnivore carnivore adjacent community avocado is probably the main food that is eaten that is not from an animal although I haven't I actually had a client who was eating a carnivore diet plus dextrose okay why were why were they doing that support energy requirements for extremely high physical activity like were they what were they doing for that activity well I don't want to give away identifying information but it was like very very let's say competitive body weight sports okay so they were doing a carnivore diet plus 10 grams of dextrose no no 50 grams 50 grams of dextrose so they were doing like and there there is a version of the carnivore diet that's like that I mean it's called the vertical diet it's an effort Eng's thinks you know thing where the baking people eat white rice and meat and I think that therefore people who are doing extreme sports or there's a question of whether the addition of that small amount of carbohydrates could be performance-enhancing so I don't think that's I don't think that's totally out of the realm of possibility well also I mean if you're concerned
