medicines are usually not something that we use long term and we're always aware of the side effects of the medications that we use
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
I think see these plant chemical benefits as redundant as redundant and we must not ignore the side effects that are pleasant in the present in these plant chemicals. Not pleasant. But we must not ignore the unpleasant present side effects of these plant chemicals, which are so often ignored. Just like any medication you get from the pharmacy has a package insert with side effects... I don't think they make good food because then you are not going to take the medicine from the pharmacy every day, then the side effects begin to outweigh the benefits and you take the medicine for an acute thing.
