so there are some RCTs on plant toxins they're not randomized but they're in cell culture and I mention these in the book I reference all of the studies looking at DNA breaks with plant toxins with the hormesis argument the problem we have with hormesis for plans is that we don't need it that it's a redundant effect that has side effects so I've talked about this recently on some podcasts with regard to the package insert for plant molecules and I think that what we're forgetting is the plant molecules have side effects and we're never told about these side effects and why would we take a plant molecule for our Mises if there's really no good evidence that that is necessary because there are plenty of good study our randomized controlled trials that show that the inclusion of plants in the human diet does nothing for us doesn't make us any better right so if we're already healthy I think that the plant toxins just create the package insert side effects and they really don't give us the benefits that we're hoping for
