I believe strongly there is no scientific evidence that that fiber leads to a healthy gut microbiome
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
people still think you need fiber for a healthy gut microbiome I don't buy it
and this is the murkiest discussion and my good friend Tommy Wood has enlightened me regarding the word Tassie ography which is reading tea leaves so what I would say about the microbiome is at this point in time it's mostly Tassie ography and many of the claims regarding fiber in the microbiome I would say are overblown and they are extrapolations I don't think that there's evidence that we really know what a healthy microbiome is and which organisms we should have in there
therefore if you decrease the fiber you're gonna have an unhealthy microbiome this is about 20 steps to premature
