we can all always agree that processed foods refined carbohydrates and vegetable oils are a big issue
The headline is broadly defensible, but the qualifications matter. Effect sizes vary by population, the strongest claims rest on shorter trials, and credible voices push back on how it's typically framed.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
It's to say that carbohydrates are not the problem. And and this is where the CGM can really help us kind of dig into some of this. And as we get to look at these data points, as we look at these values, I really urge those listening to not think to really move beyond the conditioning to fear any glycemic response, any glucose bump. That's not a that's not a real issue. We really don't have evidence for that and I talk about some of that in the book that you can even do overfeeding studies with carbohydrates purely and you don't really cause insulin resistance. You don't cause weight gain. It's as we said it's this combination of processed vegetable oil, processed carbohydrates.
