I actually think that eating sugarcane is probably not that bad for humans
The headline is broadly defensible, but the qualifications matter. Effect sizes vary by population, the strongest claims rest on shorter trials, and credible voices push back on how it's typically framed.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
these unprocessed or minimally processed forms of sugar in the human diet actually contain nutrients that can help you live a more rich life
I actually think that eating sugar cane is probably not that bad for humans uh though it is a stem of a plant and drinking sugar cane juice that's probably going to have some micronutrients in the sugar cane... but honey maple syrup is obviously a syrup from trees that's unheated but it has many good nutrients in it even things like molasses could be helpful for humans because they are from the sugarcane plant and less refined than a pure table sugar
