there are two genes there's a set of genes called HLA haplotypes specifically it's HLA DQ and D q2 and dq8 which are part of the multiple histocompatibility complex i believe it's the type 2 MHC complex in ourselves anyway this is just the part of this cellular signaling that we use on the surface of ourselves to tell other cells whether we are so or not self and so in people who have this MHC histocompatibility complex this HLA DQ 2 DQ 8 the rate of celiac disease is much higher
