what they found in this study was that a baseline urine pH which is a good indicator was 6.09 which is usual and it decreased to 5.56 when the amount of protein was increased in these people's diets without increasing the amount of calcium this is what we want to avoid but what we can take away from this study is that if we increase the amount of calcium in our diet commensurate with our intake of protein we can normalize our urinary pH
