but our ancestors were doing it a short number of generations ago and it provided pretty simple comprehensive nutrition for them totally provided not only did it provide comprehensive nutrition but if you look into the way that the comanche specifically lived it was to some degree kind of a brutal existence in the sense that warfare was a major part and rape and all these kinds of things but at the time the comanche were probably the freest people on the planet i mean beyond maybe other hunter-gatherers but the comanche had they were eating all these foods but they were all delicacies for them you know they they enjoyed it like you said they had a bounty for many decades as far as how many bison were on the southern plains and for them they were nomadic so they could roam from here to there they didn't have any specific place they had to remain they were relatively egalitarian they had lots of time to enjoy their leisure males especially had multiple wives sometimes and things like that so yeah what they maybe traded off in their not having sugar and all the trappings of civilization that was already existing in the anglo-american world they had a level of freedom that came with their dietary choices and needs that i think a lot of us would actually feel very compelled towards
