they can actually form a micelle so it's a much easier way to absorb them so if you look at the studies there are studies which show equivalent levels of omega-3 raising or equivalent levels of omega-3 when krill oil supplements are used at much smaller doses than fish oil supplements which are usually ethyl ester or triglyceride forms I think there's lots of evidence that phospholipid derived omega-3s are much more absorbable and much more utilized in the brains some of the studies were done in piglets but presumably it's the same and there's actually a special transporter called M FS - da in the brain that pulls phospholipid omega-3s into the brain
