we don't have anything remotely like this to offer in medicine the closest thing i have in my conventional work as a doctor someone comes to me with death anxiety two things i can do i can talk them out of it and try to with enough time we can find a new way of seeing themselves in the world a framework that allows them to feel like they belong in their own framework it takes time if we can get there at all and the other thing i can do is if you're really anxious well i can numb you out i can give you valium or whatever else i can put a wet blanket on your system that's the best we've had to date
