I think they're important for adults I also think they're very important in the aging when you have a shoe that allows your foot to be closer to the ground you're more stable that allows the muscles to act because one of the things that happens with aging as you start to lose muscle power you lose it in your feet and lower extremities first it goes from the feet up so if you can do something to help to preserve that strength that's a good thing
