the bacon fed rats it was protective and they say the results suggest that in rats beef does not promote the growth of aberrant crypt foci the same acronym from the previous study chicken does not protect against colon carcinogenesis and a bacon-based diet appeared to protect against carcinogenesis perhaps because bacon contained five percent sodium chloride increased the rat's water intake they couldn't say why but pork actually protected those rats against colon cancer
