people that brox they often don't have sleep apnea but they've got a condition called upper airway resistance syndrome and this was identified in at stanford in the 90s and what happened was that they found that people um that didn't have it was kind of a slim set of um female patients that didn't have sleep apnea or snoring but they were still having these um kind of respiratory efforts at night that's how you detected on a sleep test and what they found that by using a mandible advancement splint they would actually take away the symptoms
