these genes control when that sinusoidal wave of your circadian cycle arrives on the clock face what i mean by that is if you have a certain type of gene complement that makes you a morning type your activation peak your peak alertness is going to arrive earlier in the day and your awesome downstroke of your circadian rhythm will arrive earlier in the evening whereas if you have a different combination of these gene composites then you could be an evening type in other words your circadian rhythm looks very similar in its sinusoidal pattern but when the peak and the trough of that circadian rhythm arrive on the 24-hour clock face is very different to a morning type
