why don't statins lower LP little-a
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.
why don't statins lower LP little-a
Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
obviously it would be the higher your lp little a the worse your statin responds because there's a subset of your ldl that are not responding to the statin
lpa was the most important genetic risk factor for that explain uh statin response
so we've shown that if you have high lpa then your uh ldl would be uh wouldn't be lowered as much as if you didn't have a high lpa
because there there's been uh trials like uh the heart protection study uh that have shown that a treatment with statin is beneficial in patients with high lpa levels even maybe even more so than patients with low lpa levels
