the question you need to ask yourself is is he as strong as he possibly could have been if he was doing something different because just the sheer magnitude of resistance training consistently for a long period of time you will get very strong it doesn't matter what diet you're on you will get strong or relatively strong for what you started at so the question always has to be are we talking about can you do something or was this the best thing that you could possibly do because those are two different questions
