Following consumption of broccoli sprout extract, human breast tissue showed increased levels of the NQ1 gene, which detoxifies compounds and protects the P-53 tumor suppressor gene.

“Additionally, breast tissue also displayed increased levels of a gene called NQ1. This gene makes an enzyme that has many protective functions, including detoxification of certain compounds, preventing them from damaging cells, and even more interestingly, protecting a very important tumor suppressor gene called P-53 from being degraded.”
