so I think when it comes to purely a metabolic fuel I think the D beta hydroxy butyrate has some advantages
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

especially the inflammation the nlrp3 inflammasome is suppressed by beta hydroxy butyrate both the D and the L form
we do know that the L form gets metabolized slower so the the concentrations and the tissue may actually reach higher levels
so conceivably that could be having a stronger anti-inflammatory effect because you have a ketone body an endogenous metabolite that's functioning as a very powerful signaling molecule that's suppressing an inflammatory pathway
So we say if a if a beta hydroxybutyrate supplement is recemic it has D and it has L in it
So uh beta hydroxybutyrate is produced in the body primarily uh in the form of d beta hydroxybutyrate
which is a form uh the mirror image of beta hydroxy of d beta hydroxybutyrate is L beta hydroxybutyrate
Uh but a DL mixture is almost like you get the benefits of the D, right? And then you get the signaling benefits of the L.
