an sglt2 inhibitor you know is a diabetic drug that blocks this sodium glucose co-transporter in the tubule in the nephron when we filter our blood through the nephron through the kidneys we pull out a lot of things you know water sodium toxins urea including glucose and then because the body is saying we're interesting reason to waste this glucose you know we need we need these calories so it reabsorbs the filtered glucose before the urine goes out so we figured they engineered a drug to block the reabsorption of that glucose that's filtered
