so perhaps A1 milk is not that great for humans there's lots of other potentially problematic connections here an article type 1 diabetes and cow's milk based on casein variant consumption the authors of this article suggest that beta case morphine 7 which is the breakdown product of casein from A1 milk has opioid properties which include immunosuppression could account for the specificity of the relation between the consumption of some but not all beta casein variants and diabetes incidents what they're basically saying here is that it appears in some research findings that consumption of A1 casein is more associated with type 1 diabetes and I've always kind of wondered about type 1 diabetes what is going on with this autoimmune condition where the pancreas gets inflamed in children could it be an A1 variant of casein from A1 milk that is promoting this again here's another argument to not feed your kids A1 milk and perhaps not drink it yourself there's even research like this to suggest that A1 beta casein could be connected with overall mortality or ischemic heart disease and other illnesses so in this study which is observational they show a correlation between the consumption of the milk protein beta casein A1 I believe this is from The Who Monica project they also look at Regional differences France versus Northern Ireland they say people from Northern Ireland are estimated to consume 3.23 times more beta casein A1 excluding cheese in the French there's an agreement between the mortality and the consumption of this allele suggesting it's a factor worthy of serious consideration and potential source of cardiovascular disease when taken in conjunction with regional variations in traditional risk factors they say beta casein A1 consumption correlates strongly with type 1 diabetes incidents and 0 to 14 year olds suggesting that ischemic heart disease and diabetes share at least one causative risk factor
