what they start out doing is by saying that um polyunsaturated fats can decrease apoptosis and this is a good thing okay so okay fine apoptosis is a controlled cell death pattern right where the it started in the mitochondria the mitochondria says we have a problem here and the cell says okay we have enough mitochondria who have a problem and they just wave to the bouncer and say you know we're too drunk to continue anymore please take us out of the bar we're done right okay that's great so what they show is that indeed polyunsaturated fats um decrease apoptosis but they do it by shifting the cell into what's called necrosis now apa if apoptosis is the guy at the bar saying i'm too drunk please get me out of here necrosis is the guy at the bar starting a fight and throwing up all over the place right it is uncontrolled cell death and it is what seems to be fundamental to the later stages of a lot of these metabolic dysfunctions like alzheimer's and you know liver failure and heart failure
