The removal of excess carbon dioxide puts you into a state that's called hypocapnic, hypoxia. Hypoxia is reduced levels of oxygen relative to normal. Hypocapnia is reduced levels of carbon dioxide relative to normal. And it is those reduced levels of carbon dioxide that are largely responsible for that elevation in energy and at the same time a feeling of a bit of anxiety, the construction of the microvasculature in the brain and body, and therefore the feelings of being kind of tingly and having kind of an urgency to move.
