trauma and stress can inhibit neuroplasticity by way of inhibiting play at a deeper neuro biological level. What I'm really saying is that the high levels of adrenaline that are generated from trauma and stress actually shut down the circuits that allow a child or a young adult to enter the game of play or in the game of play in the same way that a child or young adult who didn't have high levels of adrenaline in their system could possibly engage in.
