Taking stimulants as a child if you are a child diagnosed with ADHD allows that forebrain task related network to come online to be active at the appropriate times and because those children are young it allows those children to learn what focus is and to sort of follow or enter that tunnel of focus. Now by taking a drug it's creating focus artificially. It's not creating focus because they're super interested in something. It's chemically inducing a state of focus.
